Easy Flavorful Gluten Free Party Mix Recipe

Home Made Gluten Free Chex Mix

Home Made Gluten Free Chex Mix

Every time I go into any convenience store, or even regular grocery store, I am tempted by the Chex Mix.  It’s like it whispers my name.  Calling to me.  Tempting me.  I have even noticed that lately they have more varieties and flavors available.  It’s in a cute little bag that would fit perfectly in my purse.  However, then reality hits and I remember that I can no longer have Chex Mix.   This is one recipe that I have tweaked to fit my own taste.  I even feel that mine is better because not only is it Gluten Free but it has more seasoning than the stuff in the bag.  AND because I am buying the items “in bulk” I think mine is even more cost effective than the packaged stuff.   I have a dear friend who lives around the corner who loves Chex Mix as much as I do, so I try to take some GF Party Mix over to her whenever I make it.  However, I will confess right here…. I love this stuff so much, I could eat it every day.  Sometimes I become “Greedy Smurf,” and I don’t share.  Of course, when she reads this post, the gig will be up; which is why I took her over two bags this morning.  Hopefully as she munches on the Party Mix she will forgive me for those greedy moments I have.  Try this recipe and you will see, it can be addicting.

KitchenAid Box Grater and Cup Grater Set Product Review

kitchenaid kitchenaid2

Handsome Hubby and I were shopping at our local Costco, stocking up on all of our favorites such as cheese, butter, and wine.  Then I just happened to walk past an end display that had KitchenAid Box Graters with a cup grater set.  Now if something is going to distract me from my mission of buying wine in bulk, then it would be a KitchenAid product.  After remembering how unhappy I am with my current grater I was easily dazzled by the shinny packaging and the promise of an easy to clean product.  Yes, it says it’s dishwasher safe.  Ok, I am hooked.   Not only did it come with a box grater but it also came with a small box with two small grater screens and a lid to use for small jobs.  Not to mention the fact that it also has a storage box that fits into the bottom of your box grater and comes with a cover to grate directly into the storage box.  I think I should also mention that this storage box also fits perfecting into the bottom of your box grater for easy storage!!.  I happily put it into the gi-normous Costco Cart and got back to the very important business of buying wine in bulk!!

I just so happen to have a big cheese shredding job to put this to grater to the test number one.  We are going to be having Mexican food and I am making a BIG batch… so I am going to need a lot of cheese and several different types.  I prefer to grate my own verses buying it in the bag so I got a jump on the upcoming Mexican meal and prepped my cheese.  This handy grater was great.  It got through the cheese in no time at all and it was very, very easy to clean.   You cannot go wrong with this package set.  As Costco is known to do, for a small of price $19.99 you get a high quality product like KitchenAid, plus the bonus of the little grater box set.  I highly recommend this product.  I have a feeling  I might just go back and grab a couple and store them in the pantry either to give out next holiday season or maybe as a birthday gift… but only to someone I really like, cause this grater set Rocks!!!

Yogurtopia Dining Review

Yogurtopia

Yogurtopia

My husband wanted to go to the Apple store.  I know that means trouble, big and expensive trouble!!   However, I gleefully tell him I want to go with him.  You might seem surprised by my response to his terrifying statement.   That is because I have learned that just a few stores down from the Apple Store, is the wonder land also known as Yogurtopia!!  Now be aware that not all of their flavors are gluten free.  However, they have several gluten free flavors everyday AND some gluten free toppings as well.  However, I never bother with the toppings because I get my fix on just the smooth, creamy, chilly yogurt.   Let me give you some words of wisdom.  They give you these giant cups to self serve your yogurt in.  The first time I went I realized quickly that my eyes are much bigger than my appetite.  Those Yogurtopia people are smart.  They only have large cups so you will probably over serve yourself.  Now why don’t they have this concept at my local wine bar??  Yogurtopia charges by the pound and they have a frequent buyer program that is worth signing up for.   When you are there, notice the little GF circle on the top right corner of the flavor’s sign.  Also the staff is really helpful and will help you pick safe selections but don’t expect too much help with the toppings.  Please check out their website at http://www.yogurtopia.com/  I see they have several locations.   I would recommend this product… Especially the Salted Carmel yogurt!!  Talk about rich and Tasty!!
