Smart Flour Foods Gluten Free Uncured Pepperoni Pizza
Smart Flour Foods started off in Austin Texas in 2005 but let me assure you they are taking the country by storm. They have a variety of gluten free foods that I am eager to try. Today I tasted their Pepperoni Pizza. I have to confess, this is not the first time I have had their pizza. I was introduced to Smart Flour Foods earlier this year at the Phoenix Gluten Free Food Expo. However, today’s review is the first time I have made their foods at home and was eager to see if they were as good as what I sampled at the expo.
Let’s get down to it… it was. Handsome Hubby and I were so excited to share this pizza for lunch. I truly feel that if you were not a gluten free eater and are a fan of thin crust pizza and you were to be served this you would NEVER ever guess it was gluten free pizza. Now you may be asking me why, if it was so delicious at the expo, why I haven’t had it since. I purchased this at Whole Foods, which is always crammed packed and 17 miles away. Handsome Hubby does not enjoy shopping there so we often choose another natural grocer to purchase our gluten free items. However, currently the other grocer does not carry this line of pizzas. Well, I am going to have to speak to them about that!! This pizza was fantastic and totally worth the effort to speak to your grocers about carrying Smart Flour Foods Products
Let’s talk about product. The crispy and great flavored crust was outstanding. Let me assure you it was not gritty or had that funky aftertaste that some gluten free products have. They had a good ratio of cheese to crust and a generous amount of full flavor bold pepperoni!! With every cheesy crunch bite that I took all I could think of was that I wished I had purchased more than one!!
According to Smart Flour Foods they are Certified Gluten Free. The pork that the pepperoni was made out of was raised on a vegetarian diet and has never been administered antibiotic. No MSG or preservatives are used in their products. The Cheese they use is 100% natural and certified to be free of synthetic growth hormone. Not only is it gluten free its egg, soy and rice free as well!!
My only beef to express is that I am frustrated that I can not find their plain crust so that I can create my own pizza creation or cheesy garlic bread. Yet another thing I am going to discuss with the local grocers around there. I can not wait to try their gluten free flour and hamburger buns!!
I highly recommend this product and I hope you do as I did and check out their website and follow them on the social media below!!
This product is good for people with Celiac’s Disease, Gluten Sensitivity, or on a gluten Free Diet because it is gluten free.
