Gluten Free Ham & Cheese Chowder Recipe

Gluten Free Ham & Cheese Chowder Recipe

Gluten Free Ham & Cheese Chowder Recipe

I know that the holidays are coming.  What do I think of when I say that?  I think Friends Family and Leftovers.  Yes, that’s right I said leftovers.  I always buy the largest turkey and ham so that I can make sure I have enough to share with my loved ones, but also that I can keep these leftovers and make awesome recipes from it.  I also like to make TONS and TONS of tasty side dishes and appetizers so that they get so full and not eat as much of the turkey or ham so that I can keep it for leftover recipes.  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

When we enjoy the holiday season we also get to also enjoy the cool weather and that’s the ultimate time to enjoy a nice thick and hearty soup.

I debated on waiting to share this recipe till we are closer to the holidays but I just could not wait.  I am so excited about this because this can easily be made with any gluten free ham you want to purchase in your local grocer and not just limited to lefovers.

This chowder will remind you of a clam chowder type of chowder but with ham, cheese and bacon… that works for me!!  I am confident you are going to enjoy this awesome chowder as much as I do!!   Dang, just talking about this is making me crave it… I am going to go and heat up a bowl right now!!

Gluten Free Product Review – Seitenbacher Vegetarian Mushroom Gravy Mix

Gluten Free Product Review - Seitenbacher Vegetarian Mushroom Gravy Mix

Gluten Free Product Review – Seitenbacher Vegetarian Mushroom Gravy Mix

I have confessed my appreciation and addiction to gravy mixes on this site many times before.  I saw this package of mushroom gravy and knew I had to give it a try.  Being a fan of the shrooms… not the kind your smoke but the kind that is in my cuisine, I was eager to try it.

According to their website this gravy is not only Vegetarian it’s also vegan!  Also in addition to it being gluten free, it’s all natural, fat free, contains no MSG or yeast.  I also learned that this gravy is dairy free, meat free, egg free, and cholesterol free.

That’s good news to a lot of people!!

I will not deny that at first the gravy had a rather off putting color and the flavor was pretty intense.  Now I found that by adding about a tablespoon of milk/cream and that made both issues irrelevant.    However, if you do remember that it’s no longer a vegan or dairy free product… however, I bet the same would work with soy or any other dairy free alternative!!

This mushroom gravy mix was a nice alternative to our normal brown gravy but it wasn’t my favorite we have ever had.

Easy Mexican Chicken Casserole Recipe (Naturally Gluten Free)

Easy Mexican Chicken Casserole Recipe (Naturally Gluten Free)

I always tell people I won the love lottery when I met my Handsome Husband, but I have also won the Best Mother In Law prize as well.

I have heard so many people talk about how their family’s do not support or believe in the gluten free restrictions that they have… even to the point of sneaking gluten in so that they could prove there is no such thing.  I am so grateful my family does believe, support and always goes out of their way to make gluten free foods. On a recent trip to visit my Fabulous In Laws they made so many delicious gluten free foods for us.  I am truly spoiled rotten!!

This recipe came from my Amazing Mother In-Law.   I couldn’t wait to share this delicious and easy casserole.  This is my new go to recipe for a busy night or when I have chicken in the freezer.   This is a great recipe if you have any leftover rotisserie chicken or maybe even just leftover chicken from another dinner.  Heck this is such a fast recipe you could just chop up some raw chicken in small bite sized pieces and cook it up and you still would have a quick and easy dinner on your hands.  So what I am saying here.. this is a GREAT recipe to keep on hand!!

Gluten Free Gingerbread Pancakes with Spice “Syrup”

Gluten Free Gingerbread Pancakes with Spice “Syrup”

Christmas morning is always a special time.  Some families enjoy opening gifts first followed by a special breakfast; while some do breakfast and then gifts.  Nothing would get the day going in the festive spirit like some hot Gluten Free Gingerbread Pancakes with Spiced “Syrup.”   It’s a new holiday tradition waiting to happen!!

However, also considered enjoying this season treat one weekend to get your holly jolly in motion before going out shopping or maybe before you decorate your tree.  There are so many times to enjoy these special pancakes… as a fan of gingerbread pretty much everyday this winter will work for me!!

Now for those of you who are very busy, don’t worry I have made these in advance and then heated up the griddle just to warm them up.  The “syrup” can be made in advanced as well, while heating it up in a saucepan.

I am confident you are going to enjoy the mild gingerbread flavor of these pancakes with the decadent “syrup” as much as I do!!
