Three Ingredient Pasta Sauce – Naturally Gluten Free
So the other morning I was working on my grocery shopping list. In the background, I had the local news on. They were talking about a recipe that they heard about on the radio… and the person on the radio supposedly heard about it in a newspaper. And now I am here talking about it on the Internet…. so this recipe has made its rounds on all media types….
This recipe was so simple that I just had to give it a try… I jotted down the ingredients, which was easy considering that there was only three ingredients, and I made sure I either had the ingredients or was going to add them to the grocery list I was working on….
Seriously…. could making a delightful sauce be THAT easy that you just put three ingredients together and simmer??
Well we tried it. Hubby did like it. I liked making it. Will it be our go to sauce? No, probably not. Will I be making it again? Yes for sure!!
Let me know what you think!!
This recipe calls for San Marzano tomatoes specifically. Why San Marzano tomatoes? This short article from thekitchn.com provides a quick explanation about why this tomato variety is so popular for use in tomato sauce recipes.
I am a BBQ loving woman!! One thing I love about ordering barbecue at many different places is the fact that everybody makes their sauce a little differently. BBQ sauce is like snowflakes… there are not two alike. Let’s just all agree BBQ sauce can make or break your favorite rib joint!!
At home, I must admit, I do prefer to buy pre-made BBQ sauce. The convenience is hard to beat. But not all BBQ sauces are gluten free… so making sure the sauce you purchase is safe to eat is always a challenge!!
Today, I am sharing a sauce I made that was pretty easy to make. Now is it as easy as opening a bottle and using as desired… no. However, I have never been able to buy peach BBQ sauce either… and I must admit, it was really fun to make!! So I realize that today’s recipe is not one you might make all the time, however, it is one that you should keep handy for when you get a good deal on peaches and want to make your backyard BBQ a little more special. I had never had tomatillo salsa until just a couple of years ago. I was worried it would be too spicy. However, the friend who shared this recipe likes it a little sweet and so I make it just like she does. The recipe is for a nice naturally gluten free refreshing salsa!! Whether you have Celiac Disease, Gluten Sensitivity, or on a Gluten Free Diet, this Mexican food salsa is a hit and easy to make and easy to take with you to a party or a pot luck!! It just takes about 15 minutes total and then toss it in the fridge. I am confident you will enjoy this easy recipe.
I am a dipper. Avid readers of this blog know this and may even share my dipping enthusiasm.
I love dipping things that are traditionally dipped like nuggets and fries but I am crazy woman that enjoys dipping about anything I can possibly get my hands onto!!
Making some yummy gluten free chicken nuggets last night and I wanted to experiment with some new dipping sauces… here was the winner Gluten Free Balsamic Cranberry Dipping Sauce.
FANTASTIC on the nuggets but let me assure you this would be a great sauce to dip many things into… gluten free egg rolls, spring rolls, turkey, chicken, pork, even beef!! It was an outstanding sauce that will be made in my kitchen for many years to come!! Continue reading →
Gluten Free Product Review – Litehouse Coleslaw Dressing and Dip
I am such a fan of coleslaw it is not just a summer side dish for me… I love it year round. If you are a regular reader to this blog you know that I am constantly posting recipes for different coleslaw recipes.
Well I had a craving for coleslaw but I just didn’t have it in me to make another blend of slaw dressing. Then I just happened to notice that in the produce section at my local grocer was a bottle of Litehouse Coleslaw Dressing and Dip… Well I was eager to give it a try.
Well as much as I enjoy making slaw dressing from scratch, it was nice to have the option of using a remade dressing!! I enjoyed it… tasted great and I would totally buy this again!!
