I have always said that whoever does PR for Prunes was terrible at their jobs. I truly believe that had they called them dried plums, instead of prunes, it wouldn’t have the stigma that prunes seem to have.
Whoever came up with something named the restaurant chain Fat Burger, I feel could have been on the prune PR team…. I can not imagine going somewhere and eating a FAT burger. I imagine they are GREAT… but the name really puts me off.
Whoever came up with FAT bombs… must be related to the people mentioned above… because it just sounds terrible. However, I sucked it up and gave it a try since hubby is trying to cut back on his carbs and this sounded like a great low carb dessert for his sweet tooth.
Much to my surprise they were really tasty!!
I enjoyed them the most when I let them sit on the counter for a few minutes prior to eating them. Doing that it really makes them taste like creamy strawberry ice cream.
One thing that is very important to do prior to making these tasty treats… eat on of your strawberries because I didn’t do that and I really feel like my strawberries were not that sweet and needed a little more sweeter because mine were a bit on the tart side… but if you adjust for the strawberry sweetness you are bound to like these as much as I do.

something else I did with these… I toss a few frozen ones, with a little bit of milk into my Vitamix and BAMB…. I had the most decedent milkshake!! DANG!! making these for that alone is worth it!!
When he travels he does not eat gluten free because I am not the one cooking his meals but he talked about this one particular pasta dish so often I was eager to try and recreated it gluten free at home. It has taken me months of attempts to recreated this dish but I finally got close enough to post the recipe… so excited. Hubby loved it and I did too. Please note that for me to like a pasta dish with a red sauce is a big thing cause that is not one of my favorites… in fact, I do not even enjoy eating spaghetti. Now I make spaghetti frequently for him but on those nights I make myself salmon because spaghetti is one of his favorites that I do not enjoy and salmon is one of my favorites that he does not enjoy… so for me to say I liked this dish is pretty shocking!!
Now the particular pasta I used for this recipe is not easy to find but I can assure you that the few boxes I have left will be used for this recipe because we enjoyed it that much. Of course that will also mean I need to get working on finding a new supply of it.
However, the ingredients of the sauce are much easier. I order my Massel bouillon cubes in bulk on Amazon and I just love having it handy!! Other than that all the ingredients are readily available.
There was a huge debate over whether or not this recipe would go up. Some loved this finished product and some not so much…. grab a little cup of coffee and let me tell you about it.
I was thinking about how much I love lemon bars one day… yes, I know, I have some pretty random thoughts. And I got to wondering… Why is it that we only make that dessert with lemons? I could not come up with an answer. Quickly I scanned my brain to figure out what fruits were on sale… and the wonderful blueberry came to mind!!
I tossed the fruit in my Vitamix and whirled it into a wonderful and beautiful colored juice, then made the bars similar to my lemon bars.
The end result is a slightly sweet desert, not for lack of sugar, but it’s ideal for people who want a dessert but not to be smacked in the face with the sweetness of it. I thought the pretty purple color was nice. It’s also pretty unique dessert so if you wanted to share this at a pot luck or a BBQ I am sure it will be the talk of the table!!
Now even though I was not a huge fan of this dessert, out of everybody who tried it more people liked it than didn’t. In addition, the people who didn’t like it just said they like sweeter desserts… so that is the story of the blueberry bars that almost didn’t make it.
This just is a quick juicing recipe. Ever start to get that feeling you are coming down with something but your not sick yet…. start drinking this… vitamin C in its natural form is amazing. If you don’t believe me Google it… I encourage you to do so because I am a HUGE fan of Vitamin C and the info you can read about it is down right fascinating.
Now I used my Vitamix for this recipe… however, if you don’t have one, although I encourage you to get one, you can make this in a traditional juicer, blender or maybe even in a food processor, it just might not be as smooth as in the Vitamix.
